10-02-2015 NOTE: The Meguiar's Unigrit Discs in P320/P500/P800 have been discontinued. Please consider using the 3" Mirka Silver Discs instead. They are a bit more money, but much more durable, and can be used wet or dry.
These particular discs are designed to be used dry, and are available in 320 (coarse), 500 (medium), and 800 (fine) grades.
They are ideal for removing scratches and blemishes commonly found on abused or neglected plastic headlight and taillight lenses.
Before you begin, do a test spot by starting with the least aggressive disc first! This will allow you to gauge whether a more aggressive disc is need for the job.
Once you've determined the proper disc as a starting point, use progressively finer grades of discs to refine the finish. For final sanding, use 1000 grade Unigrit™ Foam Finishing Discs. If final polishing is to be done using a random orbital or D/A machine, it is wise to sand once again using 3000 grade Unigrit™ Foam Finishing Discs.
Note: Foam Finishing Discs must be used dampened with water.
