Even worse: the Nano's delicate composite internal gears may BREAK due to the strain.<br/><br/>In an attempt to install the 2" backing plate onto the rotary module, some Nano users have chosen to remove the protective shroud to eliminate the clearance issue. 2" Diameter Nano Velcro-Face Backing Plate.

Rupes® BigFoot Nano Multi-Function Polishers can be used for a multitude of tasks, but its trio of backing plates must be in tip-top shape. After extended use, the factory supplied backing plates can degrade. An accidental dropping of the machine can bend or break a plate. You'll be dead in the water unless you've got a replacement Nano Backing Plate on hand.

The Rupes 996.001 2" Nano Velcro-Face Backing Plate fits all HR81M & HR81ML BigFoot iBrid Nano Polishers.
