The Mirka 32mm Vinyl-Faced Backing Plate is a must have for tight-area sanding & polishing tasks. When mounted to compact rotary or random orbital machines, these plates eliminate much of the difficulty and stress commonly associated with critical tight-area work.

Should a backing plate sustain damage due to an inadvertent dropping of the machine or some other unforseen event, you'll be dead in the water unless you've got a replacement on hand. The 9P06.060 is a factory-direct replacement for the vinyl-faced backing plate that was originally shipped with the machine.

The Mirka 102GG 3" Velcro Backing Plate is built like a tank. Its height comes in handy at times, while the added weight allows it to work well with machines designed for 5" and 6" backing plates. Molded polymer construction means that the black hub, yellow foam center, and Velcro face are molded together, not glued. Consequently, durability is tip-top.

The face of the plate is stiff, yet when used on curved surfaces its edge conforms to some degree.  Its micro-hook Velcro is short, grabby, and long lasting.  Should the side of the plate happen to contact a delicate object, you'll be relieved to know that it is soft to the touch. This is great addition to your backing plate arsenal.

The Mirka 103GG 3-1/2" Velcro Backing Plate measures in at an actual 3-3/8" diameter, making it the same exact diameter as the ever-popular DMC3 / DMF3 Meguiar's 3" DA Microfiber Discs. By delivering full support to the outer edge of the microfiber disc, cutting power can increase immensely. It can also help to create a more refined finish versus using the Meguiar's recommended S3BP backing plate. By fully supporting the microfiber, random rotation of the plate runs at maximum potential.


Mirka's backing plates are manufactured using a top quality molded polymer construction. This means that the rigid inner  hub, yellow foam center, and Velcro face are molded together (not glued). Each plate is balanced to eliminate vibration, so you can work comfortably. The medium density polyurethane foam is somewhat firm, but will give a small degree due to its flared edge.

980.027N | Rupes 5" Velcro Backing Plate.

Rupes BigFoot Random Orbital Polishers are robust, well-built machines. Even the factory installed backing plate can last for years. But, accidents do happen. Should the backing plate sustain damage due to an inadvertent dropping of the machine or some other unforseen event, you'll be dead in the water unless you've got a replacement on hand. The Rupes 980.027N is a factory-direct replacement for the following 5" machines:

LHR15ES | LHR15II | LHR15III | LHR12E

This backing plate will also physically mount onto the following 6" machines:
