Rupes 6" Vinyl Backing Plate

The Rupes 981.145N 6" Vinyl Backing Plate enables Skorpio Palm Sanders to accept peel-and-stick adhesive (PSA) sanding discs. Although designed specifically for use with Skorpio Palm Sanders, it is feasible that this backing plate could also be used with BigFoot 5" and 6" Random Orbital Polishers. However, without a commonly available PSA interface pad, controlling the consistency of cut might be difficult.

This backing plate will also physically mount onto the following 5" machines:

Note: The 981.145N 6" Vinyl Backing Plate is 5 grams heavier than the Rupes 980.027N 5" Velcro Backing Plate (130g vs 125g). Although installing this plate onto machines originally designed for 5-inch plates will enable the use of 6-inch stick-on sanding discs, machine vibration & balance may be negatively affected, but not likely (since stick-on sanding discs tend to be lighter than the typical buffing pad).
